Player – I commit to:

1. Attending training every week and arriving on time. In the event I cannot attend training I will contact the coach or team manager at the earliest possible time.
2. Attending matches when selected and arriving on time for the pre-match warm up.
3. Being appropriately dressed for training in the Royals training kit and for matches in the Royals match kit. Hair to be tied back and hair accessories to be in navy blue or white. Nails must be short and clean, and no jewellery must be worn. Trainers must be appropriate for playing netball. Royals recommendation is Mizuno or Asics.
4. Understanding the rules of netball and abiding by them at all times.
5. Listening to the coaches and officials. It is never appropriate to argue with them.
6. Show respect to everyone. Offensive language will not be tolerated on or off the court.
7. Demonstrating a positive attitude, to work hard and always play fair.
8. Reporting injuries or illness promptly whether at training or matches.
9. Demonstrating personal responsibility. Be the best that you can be but always consider others.
10. Demonstrating good sportsmanship. Be gracious in defeat and modest in victory.
11. The responsible use of social media that does not at any time bring the club into disrepute.
12. Attending training, matches and all Royal’s commitments free from the influence of alcohol and drugs and to set a good example to all members of the club.
13. Above all else representing Royals professionally on and off the court.

Parent – I commit to:

1. Ensuring my child abides by the Player Code of Conduct.
2. Supporting my child and the team in a positive manner always. Comparison with other players is not helpful. Development and progress occur at different times for different players.
3. Never arguing or challenging the decisions of the coaches or officials.
4. Never criticising my child during play. Be positive and supportive.
5. Demonstrating the appropriate behaviour at matches. No parental coaching from the side-line at any time.
6. Understanding that match selection is the decision of the coaches and that selection is dependent on several factors including capability, suitability, development and commitment. Selection is not based on player rotation.
7. Understanding that positions on a netball court are not owned by individual players. Coaches will change players positions at their discretion whenever they so choose.
8. Pay club fees in a timely manner and ensure England Netball Registration is completed annually. Promptly report any changes to contact details.
9. Reporting injuries or illness promptly and keeping the coaches informed of any issues that may affect the wellbeing or safeguarding of a player.
10. The responsible use of social media that does not at any time bring the club into disrepute.

2. Providing a safe, clean environment for players where safeguarding is foremost.
3. Providing professional, qualified and experienced coaches who demonstrate patience and support but above all else, kindness.
4. Creating a fun environment for learning where all players are respected and treated as individuals.
